Audience Profile

I am going to call my music magazine 'Off Beat'. My magazine will cost around £2.50.

To find out what audience to target my magazine at I created a survey on 'Survey Monkey'.
From my research I found out that more females answered my survey, suggesting that more females are into music magazines than males. Also I found that people not at all often read music magazines, therefore I am going to have to ensure that the front cover of my magazine really draws in the reader. I found that most people would pay £2.00 or more for a music magazine, and I found that the genre which people enjoy the most is Alternative Rock. However this is not what my magazine is going to be about. I will create my magazine by having one large image placed on the front with the title of my magazine at the top. I will also have anchors and cover lines to draw in my audience attention. My media product will represent different social groups such as different ethnicity’s and also different class, as most of my results are from middle class students. In my magazine I will also include one page which my audience said they also were into such as fashion. The type of media institution that will distribute my product is going to be Bauer Media. This is a well-known media company which also produces things such as Kerrang, Mojo, Smashes and 4 Music. The audience for my magazine is going to be both female and male and between the ages of 16-24 as this is who answered my survey. I am going to attract my audience by using bright colours and images which target my audience and support what my magazine is going to be about.
